I had a chance to have a conversation with a person who witnessed 7 presidents and learned history from the insider.
He was part of the Martial Law as the administrator of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos. Later on, he supported the coup d'etat against Marcos. And as shown in this photo, he was wearing a bullet proof vest made from Israel.
I was really pumped up when he asked his executive assistant to bring out the vest so I can try it on.
I couldn't believe it! I was not only hearing first hand about history but, wearing it now! He was a very intelligent man, always quoting statements from the books he read. He kept on saying that it is good to read, it makes you alert and makes you feel young. Up to now that he is 93 years old, he is still reading a lot. He discussed about the upcoming wars and according to his studies, we will witness 3 world wars. (Oh no!)
He showed us the books he is finishing now.
After 3 hours and 1 coffee, we left his house and got a signature.
I thought I knew what really happened during the martial law days because of the books we read in our schools... We should read his book still available at National Bookstore.
