“The greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone. Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend on the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter.”
Bill Mollison

One of the advantages of living where it gets really cold is, catching up on your reading. Here’s an excellent article. Be sure to read through this entire post. There is a link to a resource that’s valuable to gardeners, homesteaders, and anyone interested in such topics near the end of this post.

Water. A necessity for all life and abused more than any valuable substance should be. We, as humans, need to get smarter about it.

Here’s an article with a bit of the history of P.A Yeomans. Although he did his work in Australia, it applies to anywhere dry conditions exist. If you live in the desert or you want to drought proof your property anywhere, read this article.

Much of the information concerning water use and storage in Permaculture literature was inspired by Yeomans.

Here’s Something Valuable

It’s called the Soil and Health Library. It was started by Steve Solomon. Steve used to run a seed company in th USA. He is the author of many how-to garden books.

You can get FREE access to many out of print books about gardening, farming, homesteading, and more.

The Soil and Health Library is a registered charity. Please consider making a donation so this work can continue.

Here is the link.
