some science learning principles

There are several science learning principles that must be applied in elementary school:

  1. The pillar principle of global education, which includes learning to know, to do, to be, to live together. Learning to know builds understanding and knowledge about the natural surroundings. Learning to do enriches the learning experience. Learning to be an identity. Learning to live together builds understanding of positive attitudes and tolerance for pluralism.
  2. The principle of inquiry which includes several components, among others: (a) knowledge and skills will be remembered longer if students find themselves, (b) information obtained by students will be more stable if followed by evidence or data found by students themselves, and (c) the inquiry cycle is observation, asking, presenting allegations, collecting data and summarizing.
  3. The principle of constructivism. Teachers in teaching do not transfer knowledge to students but need to be built by students by linking the initial knowledge they have.
  4. SALINGTEMAS principle which covers science, environment, technology and society.
  5. Principle of solving problems. In everyday life people are always faced with various problems. One measure of student intelligence is determined by its ability to solve problems.
  6. The principle of learning contains values. Natural science learning must be applied wisely so as not to have a negative impact on the environment and community values.
  7. The principle of active, creative, effective and fun learning / PAKEM (Asy'ari, 2006: 25).
