Matt Christiansen on the #GoogleMemo: some very good points

He says, among other things, that only one of the two things can be true: either Google is not very good at following their own diversity policies as the vast majority of their employees are male, or James Damore does indeed have a point when he says that men and women statistically tend to make different career choices.

Christiansen also makes a reference to a lawsuit filed against Google by the US Department of Labor accusing Google of compensating employees unequally. Apparently, female employees on average make 16% less at Google. Google's response: we pay men and women equally for the same work, women just tend to occupy lower-paying positions. The latter is likely accurate; it is also the point Damore is making.

So, is it just me, or is Google being massively hypocritical?
