So that happened, today while my fiancé was at work, someone broke into her car only 30-40 minutes after she started.
Her coworker came up and was like I need to talk to you, she could tell by his expression it wasn’t good. She called me in a panic while heading out to check the damage. I ended up spending most of my morning dealing with ICBC and the repair shop, it won’t be fixed till next week as the part must be shipped in.
Police didn’t bother coming to look or anything just told us to call ICBC and report personal losses with our home insurance. Luckily we don’t believe anything to important was taken only Mel’s lunch bag. Some random papers from the glove box may have been taken but they left the insurance papers so obviously it was a quick smash and grab.
She is so lucky as often she will leave her wallet in the lunch bag but today had it with her in the store.
Moral of the story, people will break into your car for anything visible even a empty lunch bag. You want to make sure nothing is visible in the cabin of your car, including change, to ensure the least likely chance of having a break in!
