A little promenade at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris, the main botanical garden in France.

For the historical part:
It has been founded in 1626 by the royal physicians Jean Herouard and Guy de la Rousse. Only opened to the public in 1635, it is the oldest part of the national research and educational institute for science, Muséum national d'histoire naturelle, which was founded in 1793.

The garden includes 6,963 specimens of the herbarium collection of Joseph Tournefort, donated on his death to the Jardin du Roi.
