Playing a big role in your child's life

"Education is like a baseball game, it needs all its players:
parent, teacher, community, and student. Parent involvement
in education is like the frosting on a cupcake, it makes it complete
and oh so sweet."
Parent is their child’s first teacher and should remain their best teacher throughout life. Functioning as a coach, the parent exposes a child to age appropriate challenges to encourage development as well as to experiences that allows the child to explore on their own and learn from interacting with their environment.

Although a parent’s role in their children’s learning evolves as kids grow, one thing remains constant; they are childrens learning models. Their attitude about education can inspire the young ones and show them how to take charge of their own educational journey. Parents are the first and continuing educators of their children. Through guidance and reminders , parents help their kids organize their time and support their desires to learn new things in and out of school.

A report by the Australian Research Alliance for Children & Youth for the Family-School and Community Partnerships Bureau shows that that parents’ involvement in their children’s education leads to improved learning outcomes and has a positive impact on many indicators of student achievement, including:
• Higher grades and test scores
• Enrolment in higher level programs and advanced classes
• Lower drop-out rates
• Higher graduation rates
• A greater likelihood of commencing tertiary education.
Parental engagement is associated with various indicators of student development. Which include:
• Better social skills
• Improved behaviour
• Better adaptation to school
• Increased social capital
• A greater sense of personal competence and efficacy for learning
• Greater engagement in school work
• A stronger belief in the importance of education.

Let me show you the very necessary things which parents need to know for playing their role adequately for the education and general betterment of their children

  1. Parents Should Give More Time And Attention To Their Children
  2. Parents Should Give A Conducive Environment to Children For their Grooming
  3. Parents Should Encourage their Children – It improves their capabilities
  4. Parents Should Visit the Teachers of Their Children at School and College.
  5. Parents Should Talk to their Children about Their weaknesses and Problems
  6. Parents Should Have Their Eye On Activities Of Their Children
  7. Parents Should Help Their Children Improve Their General Habits and Skills
  8. Parents Should Have Proper Behavior To Advise Their Children

FINAL WORD

Parental involvement in educating a child has a positive impact on higher grades, and overall development of a child. As home-educators , parents should provide basic care and guidance towards the good behaviour and general development of their children. They should keep school staff informed of their children's progress and significant events that may affect their children's learning.
