Spicy Tofu with Oyster Mushroom

Tofu, also known as bean curd, is a food cultivated by coagulating soy milk, and then pressing the resulting curds into soft white blocks. Tofu can be soft, firm or extra firm. Tofu is very healthy. So this is very healthy and spicy recipe. The recipe is inspired from Sanjeev Kapoor's recipe.

Ingredients
2 servings
150 g Tofu
1 ren onion/green onions
1 inch ginger
10-12 cloves garlic
5-6 pieces green chilli
1 broccoli flower
8-10 oyster mushrooms
2-3 dry red chilies
1/2 tbsp red chilli flakes/red chilli powder
To taste Salt
1/3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp corn starch
2-3 tbsp oil
Water as required

Steps

  1. Chopped the onion. Chopped the ginger-garlic-green chilli in slice. Cut the broccoli and mushrooms.
  2. Slice the tofu into cube shape.
  3. In the pan heat the oil and add the dry red chilies. Then add onion, ginger, garlic and green chilies and saute well.
  4. Add some broccolis and mushrooms. Mushrooms will help to moist the broccolis. Saute them very well.
  5. Now add salt to taste and red chilli flakes/red chilli powder. Add pinch of sugar.
  6. Add some water and when it starts to boil then add corn starch paste to get a thick gravy.
  7. Now add sliced tofu and mix them very well.
  8. After 5 minutes switch off the gas and serve it with hot steamed rice.
