We are looking for challenges/trials in our Discord server so that we can reward our members for taking part in different channels.
The first channel that new members can use is called post-spot. It is a curation only channel and before members can move up to the next rank for self-promotion, they need to show that they are willing to share and engage with others in the community.
This can be manually handled for now but as the server grows, I don't think this will be easily managed without some form of AI.
The highlighted text could be cross-referenced so that self-promotion isn't allowed. There could be a minimum character requirement of 50. Users would need to register to the database and set their nickname to their Steemit name. After 'X' amount of successful 'post-spot messages', they receive a direct message saying; 'Congrats you completed challenge yadda yadda yadda'.
Challenges without some form of reward are ignored by some. The goal is to create a token for the community that can be rewarded, along with the challenge completion, to incentivize users to complete tasks and help them progress through the server. I considered using BTS, but SMT is probably a smarter decision moving forward.
To help with scaling and reduce manual input, rank progression into the self-promotion channels could be automated. After completion of 'X' challenges, the user will rank up to 'Guppy'. From that level, manual moderation will be manageable.
We currently have a basic pairing BOT on the server which links together two random users in the community. Challenges could also be applied to this feature and other channels on the server.
Creating challenges with rewarding incentives will hopefully give newer users (and users unwilling to put in the effort without some form of monetary gain) the approach to developing productive practices on the platform. Slowly deterring people away from the lust for high payouts and into the enjoyment of sharing others work.
We are also looking to implement the 1UP voting system on our trail account and our main account is going to be powered up to reward higher quality content from the community. The aim is to have 3 different forms of rewards for the BuddyUP community. 1UP post & Intro BuddyUP post.
