Steemit Open mic - Week 75 - The Parting glass

Hello steemians!

This is my entry for this week Open mic:

Here are the lyrics:

Of all the money that e'er I had
I've spent it in good company
And all the harm that e'er I've done
Alas it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all.

Of all the comrades that e'er I had
They are sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They would wish me one more day to stay
But since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call
Good night and joy be with you all

A man may drink and not be drunk
A man may fight and not be slain
A man may court a pretty girl
And perhaps be welcomed back again
But since it has so ought to be
By a time to rise and a time to fall
Come fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all
Good night and joy be with you all

I've been getting back into the swing of things now that I'm back in Argentina so it's been a while since I last participated but here I am once again :)

I first heard it as a hidden track on Ed Sheeran's album version of Give me love, this is a traditional Scottish and Irish song (according to the internet hehe), I fell in love with the acapella vocal arrangement on that recording as soon as it started and have wanted to record it myself for a while.
But since I can't clone myself yet and everything has to be live for this contest I thought it was a great opportunity to introduce you guys to my Ubass :O

It's size is close to that of a ukulele but it has massive rubber strings that make it sound close to a double bass. I play it live with my band @olvidesantelmo, here's a picture of it:

Thank you very much to @luzcypher and , @soundlegion, @krystle, @verbal-d, and @passion-ground and @meno for all your incredible hard work!
