In Those 'Old School Days'

Some days ago in one of my posts, I said something about some years back, precisely in the 70s, workers were earning about #450.00 Naira (Nigeria currency) per annum, even lesser; yet life was so peaceful, there were no rampart killings as we experience every single day in Nigeria now.
At that time, evil was not exposed as at now. Armed robbers were publicly faced with the degree punishment of 'firing Squad.' People were perpetuating evil in the secret, not openly as we see now. Guns were hardly seen, except dane guns used by 'serious' hunters. There were no exam malpractices. Parents at that time beg teachers to discipline their wards (children). Nowadays when you discipline a child the parents can persecute the teacher in the court of Law or even close down the School. This is why we now have different kinds of people groups in the Society. In Daily News you read about worthless children who can boldly lay hands on their parents and kill them for their own purpose.

Let me say, even though at that time, not many people had the opportunity to enjoy wealth; but at least, they were able to train their Children sacrificially to produce the kind of good and honest adults in our Society today, compared to now, money was valuable at that time. For example this well designed Stool was bought for #10.00 Naira (ten Naira).

The table Gas cooker the old Woman put the basin on top was #7.00 (seven Naira).

I will be glad if these issues can be debated on through your comments.

The question is, now that we are counting money in thousands and millions; Ten naira of that time is equal to One thousand Naira now; why has our generation suddenly turned upside down?

Thanx for your time.
