Out of a hundred and twenty five
Separated by a body of five
Created by the division of seven
Taken out from the darkness, blessed and chosen

She's the symbol of a great continent
Nigeria - the gaint of the African people
A land blessed with milk and honey
The green and white flows through my vains

She's the queen obsidian in skin like the Nubian
The colour of my skin is the beauty of her dark soil
Her soul bleeds as she cries for her children
Mourning as the sound of the kookaburra

How did a land so rich become so leeched?
But though the scars of hopeless ignomy abound
I remain proud
For I pledge to wear my scars boldly

I promise to cover her nakedness in glory
For I too I am Nigerian22089145_746699832204973_229592967347481353_n.jpg
