Being single in Nigeria is like a taboo...
A young lady who just graduated from college is expected to find her bearing in life (most times the bearing is likened to getting married and reproducing)
This often leads to desperation which might result in a long dating spree of meaniless outings without the goal (marriage) attached to it .
Just like every other night i picked out of the wardrobe a light peach off-shoulder gown with a biro-blue sandal, i was ready for tonight.
Looked at the mirror for the one hundred and tenth time(110th)...
Just another glance at the mirror and i said to myself 'Make up on 'fleek'.
My date was a tall, young and handsome entreprenure(at least thats what the profile read)
I was so excited that i will definetly see the man of my dreams tonight... so i thought.
Perfectly ready for the night, i left the house beaming with confidence ...
He had chosen a really nice restaurant which wasn't so far from my apartment.
I got there before him which was kinda a 'no no' for me but well i made up an excuse for him..
He finally arrived, a total opposite of what his profile read(he was tall in his own right but not in my eyes)
and i had the most formal date ever. We dicussed politics, business and football... i doubt he even noticed my make up. The food was my only consolation. At the end of the date it was time to pay the bills and 'Mr man' couldnt find his wallet... I was left with three options
Pay the bills , Be a staff at the restaurant for an hour or walk away...
What do you think my choice was?
