Distribution of Smart Card at the district level

After the Metropolitan City, the distribution of smart card was started at the district level.

On Friday, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda inaugurated smart card distribution program in 27 districts through video conferencing at the election house of Agargaon in the capital.

According to the EC sources, in the first phase, for the beginning of distribution at district level, 27 of the 64 districts of the country have printed smart card in 27 Sadar Upazilas and sent it to the National Identity Registration Wing. In order to facilitate distribution, necessary finger prints, scanners and Irish machines have been stored in the Upazila Election Office.

Smart cards were issued to citizens in the country for the first time since October 2 last year. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the smartcard distribution on that day. After the inauguration, the distribution work was started initially from Ramna thana and Uttara thana of the capital. Currently, smart card distribution is being done in the 10 city corporations of the country including Dhaka. Distribution started in the district in the district after more than one year. Then the smartcard distribution will be started at the upazila level, they said. Commission Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed said that the distribution work is already underway in 10 City Corporations. Distribution of district headquarters is being started simultaneously on 1 December on the occasion of the month of victory.

The areas where smartcards are being distributed from today are: Tungipara and Shariatpur Sadar of Gopalganj, Bandarban Sadar, Khagrachari Sadar, Cox's Bazar Sadar and Rangamati Sadar of Chittagong region, Pirojpur Sadar, Patuakhali Sadar, Jhalokati Sadar and Barguna Sadar of Barisal region, Meherpur Sadar of Khulna region of Faridpur region. , Bagerhat Sadar and Narail Sadar, Habiganj Sadar and Sunamganj Sadar of Sylhet region, Rajshahi region Bogra Sadar, Joypurhat Sadar and Pabna Sadar, Netrokona Sadar of Mymensingh region, Kurigram Sadar, Lalmonirhat Sadar and Panchagarh Sadar, Gaibandha Sadar, Nilphamari Sadar, Dinajpur Sadar and Thakurgaon Sadar of Rangpur Region, Noakhali Sadar area of ​​Comilla region.
