I love Eddie Murphy for what he did. He Stood up and said that as a black man, I refuse to beat down another black man that is in trouble especially when its at the hands of white people!
Eddie Murphy while doing skits for SNL 40 was presented with an idea that would be clowning Comedy Legend Bill Cosby while he is in the middle of going through some of the most damaging charges that he or any man can ever face and that is rape! Here is what Eddie said…
Now this is a man of honor because in most cases a black man given a chance to smile for white people and beat down a fellow black man he will jump at it. If this was one of those problacks are the lip smacking mack this would have been his opportunity to get in good with the so called white supremacist so he would have been all over this, I mean, he couldnt wait to get with Michael Moore and show how black men can go pimp congress!
Most of us cant stand up on any type of principles but damn it EDDIE DID!
We have had heros like Hank Aaron try to go off on Barry Bonds and other so called black men of stature have absolutely no issue throwing another black man under the bus so that they can be the white peoples favorite pet but not EDDIE!
Bill is a Comedy Legend but not only that, he means a whole lot to a whole lot of blacks so why not let him remain that beloved figure, white people talk nice about George Washington, Christopher Columbus, and all of the other so called great white americans who had sketchy past at best and they keep it that way so why are blacks so quick to throw their Icons under the bus for a crumb or two?
What really was sad to me was how it took a white Comedian to applaud what Eddie did when honestly every black comedian on planet earth should be showering EDDIE with love.. but then, black men were the main ones jumping on that bandwagon calling EDDIE gay for no damn reason and even if he was it wouldn’t change that he is still one of the greatest comedians to ever have done it!
