More seriously, this is an horror. But as every horror story, it deserves a true narrative to tell the real story.
Personally, trying to be honest and impartial, I would say it goes like this...

So if both side could become honest, at least for once, and for the narrative, it would be great. They should be the recipient of all aids avaiable to first heal them, or at least do what is necessary in the real context of the situation on the ground. as if the locusts couldn't think generations ahead.
on the other side, it's true that if the only goal is to protect pedo/cryptocleptos it makes equally no sense. They just want to harvest leaving scroch earth behind.
Is a real restoration of peace possible? I guess... but who will stand against it?
