Environmental activities such as construction of shrimp are not new because of the conversion of the Parabon of Sonadia Island of Cox's Bazar. Recently it has joined the project to create infrastructure for the project. The dense parabana before the coast of the island is no longer visible. Along with this, the journey of people on the island has also increased compared to any of the past. Due to this, this island, unique in the biodiversity, has created environmental threats for wildlife. Significantly reduced migratory birds.

According to a research report by Marine Life Alliance, an environmental body, the number of migratory birds in Sonadia has decreased significantly in last eight years. This organization was categorized in the coastal areas of Cox's Bazar in January 2009, with 37 species of migratory birds and 15 thousand 933 water birds of 52 species.
