Trump meets Putin on Friday at G-20 - What to expect?

"Wouldn't it be nice if we got along with Russia?" Donald Trump repeatedly uttered while on the campaign trail. The war-weary American population apparently preferred this foreign policy over Hillary Clinton's suggestion, which was to start a war against Syrian president Bashar al-Assad as a proxy war against Russia.

Now that the CNN fraud known as the "Russia conspiracy" has been basically put to rest by Project Veritas revelations, is there anymore reasons not to have a détente between the East and the West? The biggest problem we have on this planet is this constant perpetuation of fear and uncertainty, this continuing cold war, saber-rattling, the new arms race - all of this - my friends - is cancer. What we need is peace and a suitable environment for business.

So, can we expect the sanctions against Russia to be removed after, and will there be a return to "status quo ante bellum", after this meeting? That would probably be too much to hope for.

Now, I can already predict that some people will not agree with this. "Isn't Russia a mafia state?" "Didn't Russia invade Crimea?", "don't you know Putin kills journalists", and what about this, that, and the other thing that Russia is supposedly doing wrong?

Look, nobody is saying that Russia is perfect, or that we in the West/EU should emulate or copy Russia. All we're saying is to have peace with them - peace, nothing more than that! Peace, normal diplomacy through talking instead of military posturing. Who could be against peace?

Well, war, whether cold or hot, is a "racket", to quote general Smedley Butler. It is a racket that is always fought because there is a small group of people who gain incredible financial benefits from war. War is the only racket in which the profits are counted in dollars, and the losses are counted in lives. To hell with war!

By the way, did you catch the news about Putin meeting Vitalik Buterin and Bitcoin becoming legal tender in Russia? The times they are a-changing.

One thing is for sure: Putin and Trump should both get on steemit, and do open diplomacy on the blockchain.
