On Thursday, Philippines announced that it will be shutting it's tourist Island Boracay to tourists for up to a period of over six months from April 26. So make sure to change your holiday destination if you included Boracay in your holiday list. It caters to 2 million tourists every year pumping a revenue of 1$ billion in to the Philippines economy an over 17,000 employees on the island are said to be hit by the move.

Closure threat first surfaced in february when Philippines President Duterte indicted the island's 500 tourism related businesses of dumping sewage directly in to the sea thereby turning it into a 'cesspool'. These businesses and related residences aren't connected to the sewer lines and this closure is to make sure to build new sewage and drainage systems and to demolish the structures built illegally on wetlands.

I really think this is a good move as keeping the environment clean is where our primary focus should be on kudos to the President for taking a dare and nature friendly move.
