Today I was lucky enough to bare witness to the positive change that the decentralized crypto space is having on the planet and how humanity as a collective has the want to come together to help fellow humans in need. The tools of this incredible event was Pirate Radio segment on MSP Waves on the PAL discord channel.
Today on the 5th of February 2018 (Australian timezone 😊 ) the well-known Pirate radio show on MSP Waves was being hosted by @r0nd0n and @Globi and all was as one would expect with the radio show playing tunes and having its usual talk show segments. Within minutes of the show being on air the focus shifted to an article shared by @occupywallets. The article shared the story of @hickorymack who had been through a terrible experience due to a series of unfortunate events and her family, including herself and three (3) children, had been made homeless. The family was also under attack from the Child Protection Services who’s actions have put the family in greater peril by forcing the family into a shelter which was far more dangerous than their living arrangement at that time. The radio programs hosts @r0nd0n and @globi instantly jumped into action and dedicated the show to raising funds to help @hickorymack and her current situation. The hosts decided they would take requests to play tracks for SBD or STEEM, all funds would be donated to @hickorymack AND the shows hosts also vowed to match the funds raised by donations from the crowd by any means necessary.
This is an amazing display of what is possible through the network that is being created. In an instant the people banded together and donated their hard earned SBD and STEEM to help a person in need. The empathy, compassion and understanding freely flows. The passion of the people to help others is inherent in many of the community of the PAL Discord and the MSP Waves radio station as well as the STEEMIT community. What we are witnessing is an amazing shift in the paradigm of humanity take place, this is only the beginning…
