BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 P.M.) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this evening that he will be resigning after parliament passed a law preventing him from calling a snap parliamentary election this year.
Pashinyan told thousands of his followers in Yerevan this evening that the new bill ultimately left him no choice but to resign from his position.
"Pashinyan promises to resign after decrees dismissing ministers, who are Dashnaktsutyun, Prosperous Armenia members take effect," the Interfax News Agency reported.
The Armenian Prime Minister accused his former allies from the Republican Party of Armenia (ARF) and Prosperous Armenia Party of starting a counter-revolution.
