Lilium, a German company that begins its ambitions in Silicon Valley, has developed a five-passenger taxi with a combined $ 90 million financing from major technology investors, making it one of the best-funded electric aircraft projects.

The fund will be used to develop the taxi using high-quality technology and precision, as well as adding new members to the company's team of more than 70 people. As expected, the fully charged Lilium can survive for about an hour and travel more than 180 miles an hour and also has an on-demand feature where users can request a taxi to the nearest landing station.

The company, which made a profit of just $ 11.4 million last year, emerged as one of Europe's leading start-ups to try to solve the physical problems of a new class of vertical-capable aircraft and electric jets.

Lilleum said on Tuesday that the new funding, which was sourced from Chinese Internet giant Tencent, joined LGT, the largest family-owned investment company in Europe based in Liechtenstein.

In April, Lillium said she was developing a five-seat "airplane taxi" after successful test flights for a two-seat aircraft capable of moving in the air from a scrolling position, such as unmanned aircraft, to a plane carrying wings, such as conventional aircraft.
