We head for cover every pay day.
Drinking is a very serious problem here, especially since the crisis. People are preferring to drown their sorrows rather than facing them. It is not only adults that have this problem. We see the [kids] as young as five or six swilling the cheap booze they call "joyita". They become even "brave" and more belligerent (combative and aggressive).

We have a couple of things happen in the last couple of days. On the 16th the Prima Damascus (I think she is referring to Rosario Murillo, Daniel Ortega's wife) had what they are calling a stroke.
She is currently in the military hospital under guard. The same day one of the political prisoners in El Modulo #16 was shot and killed by one of the guards.
He was an American citizen.
A number more were injured but we know nothing more about their situation.

We have had no Internet for three days and no power for 24 hours. One of our friends was a arrested on terrorism charges after a fake traffic check.
So far he is being kept separate from the other political prisoners.
He is not Nicaraguan and has been keeping a low profile.
He was out for supplies. (They must go to town for things they cannot grow)
This is not good news for us...

These people really need help, prayers and any more positive thoughts that can be sent.
Why aren't WE SEEING THIS in our 'lamestream media'?]
