Disclosed features transparent display from Japan Display Inc

displ-650x373.jpgA few months ago we already wrote about the fact that the company Japan Display Inc (JDI) was presented almost completely transparent display. Then the novelty just showed the audience, nothing telling about the technical characteristics. And only in the summer conference of Society for Information Display 2017 (2017 SID) held in Los Angeles, the Japanese revealed the specifications of the transparent at the moment of the display.

Recall that the transmission coefficient of the device is 80%, which greatly surpasses all other existing samples and 50% higher than the previous development of the company JDI. As expected, in the transparent display is a new type of liquid crystal matrix with a unique structure. In contrast to traditional displays where the backlight is adjusted from the rear of the device, the matrix of a new transparent display is illuminated from the side. The surface of a special liquid crystals also reflects the light in the desired direction due to the specific spatial orientation relative to each other.! displ2.jpg![displ2.jpg] Light scattering in liquid crystals allowed to get rid of a polarization plate. "Under the knife" went and filter. Instead, it uses a technology called sequential color fields (Color Field Sequential, CFS), the essence of which is that liquid crystals in the desired order highlighted light blue, red and green LEDs forming a color like all the well-known RGB technology. To implement this idea the experts of the company JDI had to develop a new type of liquid crystals that provide extremely fast response, able to switch from transparent to scattering state with a very high speed. The use of all these innovations not only helped to create the most transparent to date display, but also make it the thinnest among all available peers.
