 محافظة الوادي الجديد أكبر محافظات مصر من حيث المساحة و الثالثة إفريقيا بعد  تمنراست و ادرار في الجزائر وثانى اقل محافظة بعد جنوب سيناء سكاناً.  

 The largest  governorates of Egypt in terms of area and the third Africa after  Tamanrasset and Adrar in Algeria and the second least governorate after  South Sinai population. 

الموقع

 تقع محافظة الوادي الجديد في الجنوب الغربي لمصر بالصحراء الغربية ويحدها من الشرق محافظات المنيا، أسيوط، سوهاج، قنا وأسوان، ومن الغرب حدود مصر مع ليبيا ومن الشمال محافظات مطروح والواحات البحرية التابعة مدينة السادس من أكتوبر ومن الجنوب حدود مصر مع السودان.  

 The New Valley  Governorate is located in the southwest of Egypt in the western desert.  It is bordered to the east by the governorates of Minya, Assiut, Sohag,  Qena and Aswan. On the west are the borders of Egypt with Libya and the  governorates of Matrouh and the oases of the 6th of October.

تبلـغ مسـاحـة المحـافظـة 440098 كـم2 بمـا يعـادل 44 % مـن المسـاحـة الكليـة لجمهـوريـة مصــر العربيـة .  

 The governorate has an area of 440098 km 2, equivalent to 44% of the total area of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
