No Swallows Yet...

Untitled Design.jpg

April is a funny month when it comes to weather here on Anglesey.

On the one hand there are daffodils blooming, birds singing and lambs in the fields. Yet it is still really quite cold. There is still snow on the mountains and frost on some mornings.

Today (14th April) is an important date for us here at our house as it is the day that the swallows return to our outbuildings to nest. Yes, they return on exactly the same date pretty much every year. Having flown the thousands of miles from Africa, it is amazing that they can make it here on the same day year on year.

But this year it was not to be.....no swallows (yet).

It must be the cold weather that has made them slow down. Perhaps they're still sunbathing in France! I suspect that we will see them over the coming days as I think the temperatures are set to rise. At least I hope so!

I'll be looking out for them as they symbolise warm and sunny weather for us.
