I'm always on the lookout for beautiful flowers to photograph. These gems were on a golf course and caught my eye from afar. I love sharing the natural beauty of God's creation here on Steemit."

Purple Coneflower
Echinacea purpurea or purple coneflower is a North American species of flowering plant in the sunflower family. It is native to eastern North America and present to some extent in the wild in much of the eastern, southeastern and midwestern United States as well as in the Canadian Province of Ontario. It is most common in the Ozarks and in the Mississippi/Ohio Valley. They have large, showy heads of composite flowers, blooming from early to late summer. 'Echinacea' is derived from Greek, meaning ‘spiny one’, in reference to the spiny center, purpurea' means 'reddish-purple'. Some species are cultivated in gardens for their showy flowers.
