The Crested Ibis is a beautiful, rare and precious species in the world. History states that the crested ibis was widely distributed in East Asia, Including mainly China, Japan, Russia and North Korea. The population of the crested ibis has come to a drastic decline due to the change of the in-adaptable environment caused by human factors such as cutting down of forest trees, hunting etc.

Great efforts have been made in the past 20 years in the protection of Crested Ibises and there have been noticeable achievements towards this project. In 1995 there were about 35 Crested Ibises in the wild but as of today China has been able to raise that number to about 2,000. Pretty awesome!
