Poker - Show Us Your California

Hi Friends,

This post is an entry into the weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @thesocalhive where we share an aspect of our California.

With Los Angeles being a social hub, there are lots of unique opportunities to engage with people. I took the opportunity to meet up with some random people for a Poker game!

The game was hosted at a house and was available to anyone. It was a relatively low stakes game of Texas Hold Em with a $15 buy in, and one opportunity to rebuy before the hour and a half mark. It was increasing blinds and the tournament often goes for 3 to 4 hours before a winner is crowned. Of course, as people are out of chips, they leave. We had two tables of 8 to start, for a total of 16 players.

I had a good start to the tournament winning about 4 of the first 12 pots. However, I got cold and lost a couple of big pots and was out at about an hour and twenty minutes in. There were a few people who left before me, and a few who rebought (which I didn’t do).

A fun evening playing some poker!

Thanks for coming by and checking out a piece of my California.

Brian
