Last year,when I addressed the United
Nations' General Assembly as the representative of the newly established government of Myanmar, I reaffirmed our
faith and confidence in the purpose and
principles of the Charter of the United Nations. It is in this enduring belief in the
capacity of nations to unite to build a more
peaceful and prosperous world,a kinder and more compassionate home for all mankind, that our country is now facing and the steps that we are taking to overcome them. This year,as I shall not be able to travel to New York for the United
Nations' General Assembly,I have arranged
