Musicwaybackchallenge Day 6

I cannot finish the challenge without introducing you to one of the most influential Drum'n'Bass artists, the London based group London Elektricity (yes, it's spelled this way). Founded by mastermind Tony Colman the sound also lived from the voices of Jazz singer Liane Carroll and MC 'MC Wrec' (Jon Bailey).

Their genre of Drum'n'Bass was referred to as Liquid DnB which made it a little more popular but nonetheless speedy dance music. Being one of the few DnB live acts they had a special audience of their own.

I learned about DnB in my years as a volunteer at a free radio station ran by a public club.
For about 2 years I also went to DnB parties and had a nice contact with a producer from Mannheim.

I have kept quite some records from that time but my interest kinda stopped in 2008 or 2009.

Nominee for today: @love-your-wild @argalf (if he didn't get nominated yet)

The rules:

  1. Choose one song from your high-school/college years.
  2. Write a few words about who made you listen to this song for the first time, what this song means to you (Was it a breakup song? You blasted it at 100% on your audio system when you were partying with your friends?) whatever you want.
  3. Write your text while listening to the song. As soon as the song ends, wrap up what you where writing and submit it.
  4. Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated
  5. Mention one person who should do this on each day.
  6. Tag it with #musicwaybackchallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post
