Metallica live in Vienna - March 2018

Hello Steemians,

I think it's no secret that Metallica are a blast live. So for us a childhood dream came true when we recognized they will come to Europe! We were too late for the German concerts (as we don't wanted to buy tickets for seats) so we decided for Vienna.
The pictures you'll see in this post were made by us but the video is from another youtube-channel. I could never watch a concert through the screen of a camera, but i'm thankful some people do this and upload it on youtube - thanks for that!

After one year of waiting the 31 March finally arrived and we prepared for the concert. Entrance was at 5:30pm and the supporting act started playing at 7:30pm. We decided to not queue up in the line for the entrance because it was just waaaaaay too long. We rather drank something outside and stepped in after the first run was over. Inside was another entrance check anyway so the most people did not run directly before the stage but ambled around the drinking-stalls.

As supporting act the Norwegian band Kvelertak played a powerful show. Kvelertak play a mix between hardcore punk and black metal - give it a listen! I mean you won't understand a word if you're not from Norway but the music is great anyway.

As usual the stage was in the middle of the hall so the fans could stand 360° around it. I really love that Metallica is doing this, cause wherever you stood in the hall you felt like you're really close to them. As visual effect they had around 40 quadratic screens over the stage which moved and danced to the songs - it looked amazing!

Sad but True filmed live in Vienna by youtube-guy TheJokerVienna. I love how you hear the whole audience sing and scream to the music!

As this was the tour for their latest album "Hardwired…to Self-Destruct" from 2016 they played many songs (7) from the new album. That was fine for us because we love it! For sure they also played older songs and of course also the classics:

Hardwired
Atlas, Rise!
Seek & Destroy
Through the Never
Fade to Black
Now That We're Dead
Confusion
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Halo on Fire
Rock Me Amadeus (Rob&Kirk)
Breadfan (Budgie cover)
The Memory Remains
Moth Into Flame
Sad but True
One
Master of Puppets
Encore:
Spit Out the Bone
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman

As expected it was 100% worth driving to Vienna to see Metallica live! The music, the show, the audience.. everything was great, and nothing else matters (haha). They played 18 songs but it felt like the concert passed by in 10 minutes. So, you definitely won't recognize that these guys are older than 50. Hopefully they will keep on playing music for another 10 years and enrich this world with another album and great shows.

Thank you for reading! Stay heavy \m/
