The Agonist is a Canadian metalcore band from Montreal, Quebec, formed in 2004.

They mix clean vocals with growling... add some fast guitar rips and furious drumming, and you can imagine the outcome.

This is one of my favourites, with the original vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. I hope you enjoy it.

Unfortunately, Alissa has been kicked out of the band and The Agonist have quickly lost their mojo. They are now a shadow of what they used to be...

Meanwhile, Alissa has been recruited by Arch Enemy, to become the successor of the iconic Angela Gossow.

Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, from Halmstad, formed in 1995.

Alissa is doing a god job (I've seen Arch Enemy live with Alissa, once... and twice with Angela) but Angela Gossow will forever be my favourite. She had an incredible, raw energy... and those vocals are just insane!!! Please check it out:
