how many times have you heard a tune from your youth and it is so memorable... but the artist/band can not come to mind. these are typically because the tune was a 'one hit wonder' a term used to describe an artist/band had a hit which sort of eclipses their entire career and they fade into obscurity.
the church-under the milky way
to be fair, this may not be memorable to all .... but the following tune was a definite hit ... and the band was never to see the charts again after this smash!!
m - pop music
pretty catchy number ....
who does not know macy gray... i reckon this following number is a fairly genius use of 'minimalism in music'
Downright strange that this distinctive neo-soul vocalist made a splash with her second single – which went to the Top 10, got three Grammy nominations, and won one – and never charted again.

this next tune i apologise in advance for planting an earworm ... it is done without malice, but when looking at one hit wonders this is a /must/ inclusion.
lou who? lou bega what the hell happened to him... but a great little foot tapping, booging tune this was. if it does not get you moving you have no soul.
there are so many one hit wonders i am going to do a follow up as i find it rather fun (and funny) ... we end with another 1970's act Lips Inc ...
what got me going down this road was a tune i really love by a chap named 'oliver' ...what? you never heard of them? wth? just kidding ... i too never remember the name.
oliver - good morning starshine
i think this was written as part of hair ? not sure but a great track.
as always, thanks for stopping by, thanks for the support ... stay safe, stay free and love the one you are with!!
