Paige's Playlist, May 6 2020: "The Race" by Plain Faraday
This is a song I found through a playlist last year, and it's a very short and sweet song. What makes this song is that it is a duet between two singers whose voices compliment each other perfectly. They begin singing the same notes, but them slowly begin to differ in certain places until the beautiful harmony in the chorus at the end. It creates a perfect sense of loneliness that is expressed in the lyrics of the song. These two people are caught in this race, and while they are both present, there is a level of disconnect that prevents them from being able to rely on each other. The song is short, at a runtime of less than three minutes, but it creates a wonderful atmosphere in that time.
