Accomplishing Hip Hop Harmony Beats With Instrumentals # 6 - Dipset Resurection ( FREE BEAT DOWNLOAD)

Acoustic Grand Piano.png

Wow, who remembers the hip hop rap group The Diplomats, better known as Dipset? Are you from that time era of hip hop where Cam'ron, Jim Jones and Freekey Zekey, all of whom grew up together in Harlem and don't forget fellow Harlem-based rapper Juelz Santana that was also added to the group. Those were some awesome hip hop days wasn't it?

Well, this instrumental music did I created definitely has that Dipset kind of vibe to it don't you think? The first thing that I started to do was come up with the main melody to this beat and in the above screenshot, I started off with an Acoustic Grand Piano for the main melody. For this instrumental beat, I mostly used the VSTi plugin called Sample tank and that's why you will see sample tank in most of the screenshots.

B-3 Organ 4.png

After I came up with the main melody, I started to work on the drums. At first I was going to go with some normal drums but the melody sounded like it needed something different. I kept listening to the melody over and over again and that's when it hit me! I thought to myself, that this sound like a dipset instrumental music that one of the members would rap on and then that's when I laid down the drum work that matched the instrumental beat perfectly.

After I had the drum work down packed, in the image above, I went and used an organ type of sound. For this organ, you guess it, I used sample tank of course and the sound that I used was called B-3 Organ number 4. There were other organ sounds that I tested out on this track but B-3 organ 4 was the winner that harmonized with this resurrection instrumental. This sound is basically the first sound you hear right when the beat drops along with the drum work of course.

Octave Pizzicato Violins.png

After the organs, I did laid down some Octave Pizzicato Violins. You can hear this come in shortly right after the B-3 Organs. You can't miss it when the beat drops because it's the 2nd sound that comes in after the organs.

B-3 Organ Vib 1.png

I had added a second sound of organs in there to make the instrumental sound a little bit different from the other organ that I had added in there. I'm not sure how to explain it but it definitely made a difference adding in these organs to match the first organ that I had in there. What do you think, can you hear the difference between the 2 organs? This organ that I used is called B-3 Organ Vib 1. They almost have the same name but trust me, the sounds are very different from each other.

Comp String Ochestra.png

To make the beat sound a little bit more cinematic, I added some comp string orchestra. These strings basically come right before every breakdown into the synth lead sound. I really like the feel of these strings because they make the instrumental music sound so theatrical and I love beats that are cinematic sounding, like they belong in a movie scene or something.

Sub Bass.png

Ahhh yesss, the famous hypersonic sub bass that I always use. I swear this sub bass is used a lot on majority of my instrumentals because I love the thump of this bass. It makes my instrumentals sound complete when I add this bass line. For this bass, I used the VSTi plugin called Hypersonic. Did I just say that twice? lol

Acoustic Grand 3.png

I also added a different set of pianos to the instrumental called Acoustic Grand 3. This piano comes in at the build up of the instrumental where you can hear the synth sounds come in. These pianos are at a higher note than the other pianos, so when you hear those higher piano notes come in, you are hearing this piano. I thought it complimented the instrumental preety well because it sound like a shell before I added them.

Double SQ Lead.png

For the 1st synth sound, I used as sound called Double SQ lead which sounds like you're going around in a merry-go-round. This is the first synth that comes in and with out this synth, the instrumental music wouldn't sound how it sounded. I think this is the sound that made the beat stand out and give it that dipset type of sound. Naaa, I don't think so either lol, I think it was the melody and the drums that gave the beat that Dipset feel to it but this synth sound was key for this instrumental.

Tek Hits.png

Last but not least is the final synth sound that comes after the 1st synth sound. This synth sound sounds a little bit more dirtier than the first one. The first one was soft but this one sound a little bit more grimy can you hear it? If Dipset were still popular today, I think they would of created a dope song out of this instrumental beat!

Below is the finished version of the instrumental and it is for free download. If you really like these instrumentals that I am posting, please feel free to leave a comment below, all feedbacks are appreciated, including negative ones as well. Thank You.
