Let's dive in and explore some of the awesome Music contests featured on Hive. These contests allow musicians (and users) the chance to show off their musical talents, or just their favourite music! Creating a versatile and exciting music scene for all Hive to enjoy, and hopefully catch the attention of web2 users with top-quality content! OVERVIEW
From Hive Open Mic to the weekly Hive musician of the week contests from multiple communities, featuring everything from the Hive festival to Three Tune Tuesday. There's a reason for everyone to get posting on Hive and create a name for themselves. We've already explored some of these communities more deeply, but today we're going to have a quick round-up of contests held by the music communities on Hive.
Hive Open Mic
Perhaps the biggest weekly event, Hive's Open Mic (@hiveopenmic) is a chance for everyone to share their music delights. This week's open-mic theme is 'Never give up'. To find out more about the open mic event check HERE. Not only do Open Mic offer the chance to share your themed music with their weekly post, but they're also supported by OCD curation, so a bumper chance to shine!

Music Community Curation
The Music Community (featured in Hive encyclopedia #3) have a weekly curation post highlighting the best of this weeks content. Again supported by OCD, the @music-community give an extra incentive for users to use the #music tag and music community. Hive Music Zone Festival + Author of the Week!
Hive's @musiczone (featured in our Hive Enyclopedia #2) offer another chance to get your quality content highlighted to a wider audience, both through the weekly Hive Music Festival supported by @music-community(@ylich), @theyycallmedan, @stickupboys, @appreciator (@bluemist) and @risingstargame and Hive @musiczone also bring the chance for 'Hive Musician of the week'. Afri-Tunes Artist of the Week
We're going to cover more about the @afri-tunes community in an upcoming post, for now, here's your chance at another 'Music Artist of the Week' this time supported by the Afri-Tunes community. Currently in their 67th week of this initiative, highlighting some of the best 'Afri-Tunes' on Hive. Finally, a Music contest for all the music fans, but not music creators. Much like Sloth, if he was to try to enter these 'singing' contests, he'd have Hive closed down by the end of the week!
Three Tune Tuesday
Three Tune Tuesday is a chance for everyone to share their favourite three tunes of the week. This contest created by @ablaze gives 'normal' Hive music fans the chance to share their music greats. Whether you choose a style or an artist to cover, all you have to do is share 3 songs and write a little about them! A great chance to show off your favourites and find some other 'new' music! SUMMARY
There are many awesome events that take place weekly on Hive, giving all creators the chance to shine! Not only do we have these weekly contests, but musicians are also able to upload their music to projects such as @Risingstar to feature in-game or @cryptoradiofm to be played via the 24/7 crypto radio station embracing web3. Or simply upload via @blocktunes to have your content shared with the masses with relative ease! Hive opens many doors for musicians and music lovers alike! With curations from several of the above communities and @stickupmusic (@stickupboys) and @OCD there's never been a better time to get involved! The time has come to utilise the power of web3 for music lovers around the world!
We are searching for more artists and projects to interview and promote. If you create original music (or know someone that does) get in touch and let’s set up an interview. We love music and want to see it grow on HIVE. Be a part of the future of Hive music! 🎵
