Why???
Why is 2 pac in anyone Top 5 Emcee list? I have yet to hear a convincing case for him being a top 5 emcee. Everyone will say it’s because Pac was “real”; so what? There are a lot of “real” rappers out there, that don’t mean that they are a top 5 rapper. My personal top 5 are Jay Z, Eminem, Scarface, Ice Cube, and Big Pun, the one thing these artists have in common is they are Lyricists Pac was not one.
I can understand why people would want to put him in the top 5, and even name him the greatest rapper of all time. However, he really got that boost after he died. Pac was an activist with a pen, the son of a Black Panther; you fully felt and understood where his words came from and you heard the pain in his voice. This is not a requirement to be top 5 in my opinion, every real rapper has a story and you can feel everything they say.
If you think Pac is a top 5 emcee, what are your reason for having him there?
