A handful of my students took the stage for the first time tonight! Super proud of them!

I remember my first time being on stage - it's an exhilarating experience that you never forget, and no show following ever breaks a wall down like that does. Today we hosted a 5 year anniversary showcase for a program that I am a project coordinator for (for music, obviously), and the kids killed it.

I had a couple alumni students and staff come by to perform the music they worked on during their time at the program, and we had a number of youth go up for the first time.

There's nothing more satisfying than helping to create a musical outlet for someone. All the hard work we've been putting in since the school year started is showing now. Because of the current educational climate, it's going to fall to us - the active creators and working professionals - to pick up the slack that our schools are no longer being funded for. When they look to us for knowledge, counsel, guidance - pass the torch.

Super proud of these guys! There is much more work ahead of us yet!
