LYRICS:
We're on a rich man's planet.
Some men are handed a silver platter in life
and given everything they ask for,
while some men are forced to mask up and act tough,
and use those bootstraps to stroll up and smash the back door in.
It's abhorrent, but sometimes perspective is important;
and to recognize the steps that led the to the brink of war
with their own conscience and morals...
and if they acted drastically they did it 'cause they're in a hole
and only force can mobilize the broken.
I've been there and I know that it feels hopeless,
but I swore that I would never bow to those who keep us broke
so we can never pose a threat to the systems that control us.
Politicians talking to use like they know us.
Corporations market to us like they own us,
take your hard-earned wages for their quarterly bonus,
and kick the ladder out from underneath as soon as you're on it --
they'll do whatever it takes to keep all the workers in bondage,
'cause competition's something that they never wanted.
Maintain the status quo at all costs to stay in power;
broadcasting propaganda seven days, twenty-four hours...
over the airwaves for the underclass to devour --
and don't it work like a charm?
They got us eating out of multi-billion dollar palms,
the hands of a man who is actively doing us harm --
and by and large we just all choose to play along
like nothing's wrong.
I guess we must deserve what we get.
We recognize the threat, but were collectively chickenshit,
and we don't stand up and demand that things be done different.
Ain't that a bitch?
