As many of you know, I work for the Korg, VOX and D'Addario brands in Spain and would like to share with you some of the most interesting news at the NAMM 2018, the largest musical instrument fair in the world.
Of course we must start with Korg's new flagship, the prologue synthesizer. Yes, the "p" is lowercase :)
Not for nothing the prologue has won the "Best in Show" of this edition of the famous fair held in California.
The older brother of the already consecrated monologue (synth monophonic) and the minilogue (his little brother polyphonic), arrives with its revolutionary multi-motor system, multitimbral, and user-programmable oscillator mode!
Korg prologue: a synthesizer without limits.
-It is equipped with three different sound engines, can be combined with analog VCOs to expand the prologue sound potential beyond what a traditional analog synthesizer can offer.
-It has 16/8 multitimbral voices with a structure 2VCO + MULTI-MOTOR, 1VCF, 2EG, 1VCA and 1LFO. In addition to the original distinctive circuitry, such as 'wave shaping' that modulates the harmonics of the oscillator and a sync / ring switch.
-It offers an SDK (Software Development Kit) that allows developers to customize and expand the capabilities of multi-engine and digital effects.
Is it analog?
Yes, but it is also digital. Thanks to the multi-motor you can go beyond the VCO3 analog sound, adding digital and FM waveforms. It also has high quality digital with 32-bit floating point processor, analog compressor / booster and many more features that will really surprise you.
