A new format rising?

Dear reader,
have you already hered about pauper? I am sure you have. But in case you haven't: it is a constructed format where only cards are allowed that were printed in common rarity at least in one edition. For example:
Urza's Tower (9th) .jpgUrza's Tower (chronicles) .jpg
Urza's Tower was printed in the 9th edition as an uncommon card. But it was printed in the chronicles edition as a common card which makes it pauper-legal (the same goes for the other two: Urza's Powerplant and Urza's Mine)

So why am i writing about this format?
There are several reasons why I think this format deserves a chance:

First: low coast
When you search for "budget modern" decks you find decks at about 100€, maybe less, maybe more... But these decks are already marked as "budget". When I found my way back to Magic several months ago I remembered that this is not the cheapest hobby. Then I found the pauper format (also promoted by "the Professor" from the "Tolarian Community College"). Good decks for the pauper format already starting at 20€.

Second: use unused cards
I am sure the most of us, or even all Magic the Gathering players have a collection with unused common cards. With this format you have a reason to take a look at those cards. Maybe you find some treasures, that are not worth playing in modern, or legacy, or are rotated out from standard. With this format you might also be happy about some common cards hiding in your collection.

Third: common cards become relevant
Maybe the pauper format is able to push the common cards out of their "trash-cards"-image. Maybe you find out that these cards aren't completely bad at all, it's more that a lot of uncommon or rare cards are just better.

Fourth: Play banned cards
There are some common cards that are banned from legacy, limited in vintage or just not legal in modern or standard:
Gush (Vintage Masters).jpgFrantic search (Ura's Legacy).jpgSeething Song (Archenemy).jpgAncient Den (Planechase).jpg
(another steemit-guy had already made a post about the gush card, it's really interesting, here you find him: https://steemit.com/mtg/@kwjeagle/mtg-animation-of-the-day-2018-01-26-let-s-talk-free-cards )

Okay that should be enough for now. In the future I want to write and maybe discuss about some good cards for the pauper-format, and present some deck Ideas for Modern (Budget) and Pauper. Maybe also how you can start a deck as pauper and then transform it to a modern-deck.

Thank you for reading so far. Kind regards
Nastratar
