Film Review – Incredibles 2 – 8 out of 10

Dear Steemians,

Who in the world does not love… A good Animation film?!

Right, that’s what I thought! That’s why I bring you today one of the best animation films I’ve seen this year: Incredibles 2!

After had recently covered a violent movie about drug cartels and military operations (Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado) and an horror film (Get Out), I’m back with a much, much softer movie: one that you can watch with your kids.

Specially, because this was made for them, like any other Animation film… Even though, we – the grown up – love to see them as well!

This one is a sequel of The Incredibles, released in 2004, and portraits the story of the Incredible family: a family of super heroes who fight crime and evil, while trying to keep a normal life.

This time, they face illegality: yes, it’s forbidden for super heroes to fight evil in their world, so all the actions they make to protect humans and society are… Illegal. Brilliant play, politicians… As always!

The story has its inciting incident when a billionaire - Winston Deavor – approaches the Incredible family, who face terrible financial difficulties, and offers help: he will try to spread the word (and images) of their super-hero-deeds

Well, of Helen Parr/Elastigirl to be more specific…

The film will then be around this initiative and will focus on the difficulties Bob Parr / Mr. Incredible face when he’s forced to stay home with his three kids. It’s not easy… But it will be super funny for you!

In terms of special effects, it always amazes me – even though I’m an Engineer – the quality of the animations. How real they have become is impressive!

The balance of action / calmer scenes is done with great mastery by the director (and writer), who also had director The Incredibles, back in 2004. Also the theme of the film was very well chosen and can lead to some interesting questions: how should you act when the law doesn’t seem so fair?

All in all, this is a very good film to watch, especially with your family and your kids: everyone will have a good time and laugh a lot, trust me!

RATING: 8/10
