Will Sony Delay Their Movies Because of COVID?

Sony has stated they will not do theaters and PVOD simultaneous releases. They want their movies to make maximum money. As the world is sinking back with a new wave of COVID, less and less people are going to the movies.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer came out a few days ago and might I say that it look totally awesome!

The movie is set to hit theaters on at the end of next month, but this trailer has no release date in it. As if Sony is not willing to commit to a release date for this movie. Even though the advertising campaign for this movie has already started, I don't think that pushing it back a few months will hurt the movie. Other than the fact that there are so many movies coming out this year because Hollywood was banking on COVID to be over by 2021.

You know which movie didn't start its advertising campaign even though fans are dying for a teaser? Spider-Man: No Way Home. Sure December is so far off and we have no idea what will happen with the pandemic by then, but the fact that the movie is giving nothing away is not a good sign. Sure it will mess things up for Marvel if the movie will be pushed back, but Sony do have the power to do that. I hope they won't, but they want a billion dollar movie again and no movie will make that money during COVID. It's just not going to happen.

There is a good chance that Venom will be pushed back to December and Spider-Man will be pushed back even further. I hope not, but it could happen. What do you think? Any chance of Sony movies being released on time?
