Turn of the Screw is Being Adapted into a Movie

Turn of the Screw is a novel written by Henry James and published in 1898. This famous story leaves Literature students everywhere, including myself, feeling very frustrated because it's a very ambiguous story. At the end of the story you can only wonder what happened and did it actually happen? So when I hear that such a novel is being adapted into a movies I feel rather hesitant. Can they actually make a movie that can convey a feeling of vagueness and different meanings? This will be even harder to do considering that it is a modern take on the story. Probably the latter. So you should probably just read the novel. More than once.

As for the movie itself regardless, it might have promise. It will be called The Turning. It will be directed by Floria Sigismondi. She directed The Runaways and episodes for famous tv shows such as Daredevil, The Handmaid's Tale and American Gods. There were two casting announcements so far. Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler on Stranger Things and Richie Tozier in IT) will be in the movie as one of the children. His career is really taking off. Mackenzie Davis (Mariette in Blade Runner 2049 ) will be the many.

So far the synopsis on IMDB states:
"A young governess is hired by a man who has become responsible for his young nephew and niece after the deaths of their parents. A modern take on Henry James' novella 'The Turn of the Screw'".

It could be interesting, and it could be another mediocre horror movie. What do you think?
