My first introduction to Toxic Avenger was through the Saturday morning cartoon called The Toxic Crusaders. I was aware of the character prior to that but never got around to renting the movie. For some reason I could never catch it on cable either, even on Cinemax. I would watch a bunch of other Troma movies but not the one they were known for. I did eventually get around to seeing it and watched it again recently.
One thing I usually say after watching it is why didn’t I watch this earlier. The humor in Toxie and many other Troma movies is similar to mine but I try to avoid going that far myself. The term sardonic to fit perfectly.
