Ever had trouble with windows media player not suporting a format? Not anymore

Hey guys,

So I was thinking what to write about and i was listening to music and i thought about the codec pack that i have used since windows XP for all my media needs, be it music or movies. Its probably been about 12 years if not more that i have used hes packs and I will be honest i have not had one problem with playing a file since then, best of all is that it makes windows media player the only media player that you will need unless your a video creator or something of the kind.

The codec pack i am referring to can be downloaded from Sharks007's website linked at the end of this post.
I personally use the advanced codec pack there is no cost to the user. yep that is right!!! its all free baby.

To download the codec pack go to the official site of the pack.
http://shark007.net/advanced.html

And scroll down until you see a download link hosted on majorgeeks. Here is a snip of what your looking for.

When the download is done you have two options.

  1. run your antivirus then run the program.
  2. run the program.

OK all jokes aside i am not responsible for any harm that comes to your computer, so make sure you read and understand any and everything the author of this codec pack says. I have not had or heard of anyone with problems from using these codecs. I also do not own this software.

I do not have any current antivirus running on my unit, but windows smart screen Stuck its head out and told me the codec pack is potentially unsafe. Most users will be able to bypass smart screen by just running the setup file as administrator.

Before the setup is finished you will be presented with a nasty little screen full of tick boxes, If you are not tech savvy you can just go ahead and thank Shark007's for he's suggested settings and click on exit.

Setup Complete.

Prety easy right?Go ahead and restart your computer, and start to enjoy windows media player the way it was meant to be used.
