Is The First Purge worth your hard earned money to see in theaters? I'm going to have to say no on this one. While not as bad as the third entry in the series, The First Purge gimps itself with heavy handed political references and mediocre action. Despite it's best efforts it never manages to rise to the level of truly exciting or intense, and the political scenes really kill the pace and make the movie tiresome to watch. As if we don't hear enough political BS in real life, do we really need it in our entertainment too? Not to much to say on this one really, just a boring movie that isn't worth paying theater prices for. If you really want to see it just wait for the home video release.
