Rampage is loosely based on the arcade video game of the same name, in which Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, after Baywatch and Jumanji, is once again allowed to play a meek but also a hard-hitting action hero. The film is a typical action-packed monster movie without much sunstance, in which you definaly should leave your brain at home.
Rampage basiert lose auf dem gleichnamigen Arcade-Videospiel, in dem Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, nach Baywatch und Jumanji, wieder einen sanftmütigen und doch knallharten Actionhero spielen darf. Der Film ist ein typischer actionreicher Monsterfilm ohne viel Substanz, in dem du unbedingt dein Hirn zu Hause lassen solltest.
For Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, everything is back to normal in his new sci-fi action movie Rampage. The Rock plays here the man of steel, who looks in every attitude as if he were an indestructible god. In this staged hero status you know him and you get this 'The Rock' offered throughout the movie. The movie itself offers little storyy, like the arcade video game which has no story, so it became a cliché monstermovie for popcorn cinema.
Für Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson scheint nun in seinem neuen Sci-Fi-Actionfilm Rampage wieder alles beim Alten. Der Mann aus Stein spielt den Mann aus Stahl, der in jeder Einstellung aussieht, als sei er ein unzerstörbarer Gott. In diesem inszenierten Heldenstatus kennt man ihn und diesen 'The Rock' kriegt man auch im ganzen Film geboten. Der Film an sich bietet wenig Handlung, zumal das Arcade-Videospiel auch nur aus haudrauf bestand, wurde daraus ein klischeehafter Monsterfilm fürs Popcorn-Kino.
If you look at the arcade video game machine on which the film is based on, then everyone should be clear what to expect here. There are a couple of little jokes here and there, but moreover, the film has a slightly too serious tone and that gives it that patch. The effects are good to look at, the action is fully loaded, and George the Albino Gorilla is very sympathetic, but the script itself is mediocre, they've also copied some things from other monster blockbuster movies and in general you do not see anything new in Rampage, except 'The Walking Dead`s Negan'. That was a surprise to me. I do not watch any movie trailers and try to keep up the surprise effect and that's what happened to Rampage with Negan. But that surprise quickly faded away when I realized that Dean Morgan is making Negan in Rampage.
Wenn man sich das Automatenspiel anschaut, auf dem der Film lose besteht, dann dürfte eigentlich jedem klar werden, was einem hier erwartet. Es gibt hier und da ein zwei kleine Witze, aber darüber hinaus hat der Film doch einen etwas zu ernsten Ton und das verleiht ihm doch dieses aufgesetzte. Die Effekte sind gut anzusehen, die Action ist voll geladen, und George der Albino-Gorilla kommt sehr sympathisch rüber aber das Drehbuch selbst ist mittelmäßig ; man hat sich auch einige Dinge bei anderen Monster-Blockbuster-Filmen abgeschaut und eigentlich auch allgemein sieht man nichts neues in Rampage, außer 'The Walking Dead`s Negan'. Der war mir eine Überraschung. Ich schaue keine Trailer und versuche mir so immer den Überraschungseffekt aufrechtzuerhalten und das ist bei Rampage doch mit Negan gelungen. Aber diese Überraschung war dann doch schnell wieder verflogen als ich merkte, dass Dean Morgan in Rampage einen auf Negan macht.
Transformers and Pacific Rim with Animals meets Godzilla and another interpretation of King Kong, and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson stands in the middle of it all. What you can expect from such a film is no brain activity, because that is not required, you will see a Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnsons with his big stuffed animals. Cities break down and The Rock acts his man. A too little shot humor for my taste, good effects and loaded action that shakes the canvas. You do not have to worry about the development of the characters or the storyline. That's all irrelevant.
Transformers und Pacific Rim mit Tieren trifft auf Godzilla und einer anderen Interpretation von King Kong, und mittendrin steht Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson seinen Mann. Was man von einem solchen Film erwarten kann, wird geliefert. Keine Hirnaktivität erforderlich, sondern Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnsons und seine großen Plüschtiere. Dabei gehen Städte kaputt und The Rock agiert mittendrin. Ein Schuß zu wenig Humor für meinen Geschmack, gute Effekte und geladene Action, dass die Leinwand wackelt. Über die Entwicklung der Charaktere oder der Storyline braucht ihr euch nicht zu sorgen. Das ist hier alles nebensächlich.
If you expect something different, you should not watch monster movies like Rampage, that joined the club of monster movies. And who does expect it, is his own fault.
Although I did not like Dean Morgan's Negan role in Rampage, but his A-hole spell certainly left something sympathetic....
Wer etwas anderes erwartet, soll sich keine Monsterfilme wie Rampage, der sich jetzt beruhigt zu den anderen Monsterfilmen gesellen kann, anschauen. Und wer es doch tut, ist es selbst schuld.
Obwohl mir Dean Morgans Negan Rolle in Rampage nicht gefiel, hinterließ sein A-Loch-Spruch doch durchaus etwas sympathisches....
