Movie Review - Seven Psychopaths

You can look at certain people and know they belong on the big screen: Joaquin Phoenix; Tom Sizemore; Peter O'Toole etc. Just put them on, carte blanche.

Sam Rockwell has always seemed like a natural to us and we enjoy any time we get to spend with him. The rest of the cast is a treat as well, Christopher Walken and Woody Harrelson.

The characters are quirky and so is the story, just how we like it. Sam and Christopher are dog nappers, they cash in on the rewards for returning them to the owners. One day they steal a shitzu from the wrong shitzu owner, Woody the gangster. He's a dangerous gangster, the tag on the shitzu says to return the dog or die.

So a game of chase, revenge murder and intrigue begins. Woody goes as far as to kill the invalid wife of Christopher, so Sam kills Woody's girlfriend, who he also happened to be bedding.

The story is hard to follow, dream sequences, vignettes, flow between fact and fiction. We'll chalk it up to artistic creativity. At one point the characters are writing a version of the script of the movie you're watching at a camp site. But the "what's gonna happen next?" and oddities make it a movie worth watching. 4.1 out of 5 farts.
